Vertical Radiator or a Horizontal Radiator, which is Better?

Radiators are no longer just a hot metal box under the window that heats up your room, modern radiators that are either horizontal or vertical are now seen as decorative items and style statements. They create a focal point and can transform your space. We have found that vertical radiators tend to be more stylish than horizontal installations but both styles can be different when compared to a standard convector radiator.

Does it Matter if I have Vertical or Horizontal Radiators?

When it comes to heating a room, it doesn’t matter whether your radiator is horizontal, vertical or any shape as they all serve the same purpose. New styles and designs are being developed all the time and they are coming in all shapes and sizes! Whatever radiator design you chose you need to make sure it will get hot enough to heat your space, because what’s the point of a radiator if it doesn’t heat the room?

Horizontal Radiator

If you are looking for a quick upgrade then it is easier to select a swap of the radiator you already have, for example, a new radiator will offer the same in terms of heat, but you can find a more modern-looking design for the same dimensions then install it in the same place as your old one. Doing this will help you save money on installation costs and as you don’t need to move any pipework. Doing this is a great way to add a new look to you room that doesn’t break the bank it is quick and easy to do.

Vertical Radiator

If you’re looking to make a statement to you room and want to do something different with it then you might want to consider a vertical radiator. A vertical radiator will do the same as a horizontal radiator, but it won’t take up as much wall space. So if you’re heating a small room then you might have more space if you install a vertical radiator and not a horizontal one.

Overall, if your room is smaller with a restricted space and you want to make a visual statement then you will need a vertical radiator, if you want a more traditional and understated look then you will need a horizontal radiator.
