Refresh Your Home for Spring: The Top Colours.

Now that it is Spring it is time to discuss which home décor trends. 2017 was all about tropical greens, warm neutrals and sophisticated camel colour. Whereas this year it will be filled with even edgier hues. If you need some help with what colours to choose keep reading this blog post!

TURQUOISE:

This vibrant shade of blue isn’t demure in the slightest and it will make a bold statement on your walls. Seeing as it is such a bold colour it might be best to try using it as a single statement wall first, then if you grow to love the colour try filling an entire space with this forward-thinking shade.

YELLOW:

To make a cheerful and cosy statement turn to goldenrod shades! Warm, rich yellows will make you feel organic and natural, it is best paired with cream and blue accents! Valspar selected Golden Ochre as one of their colours of the year!

EARTH TONES:

If you want to make your room more sophisticated as well as natural, try a charcoal brown shade. You can pair with faded red and green furniture to create a more relaxed room.

DEEP RED:

Choosing this colour will definitely make your room stand out! If you choose to have this colour as a statement wall its fiery colour can help energize and harmonise your space. No wonder Benjamin Moore picked this deep red colour as their colour of the year!

PURPLE:

It’s easy to see why Pantone named purple their colour of the year, the rich shade adds depth and energy to any room. Try adding purple furniture to your room first just to experiment then you might be ready for an all purple colour scheme! No matter what you choose this complex hue is one to watch.

BLACK:

All black rooms will forever be timeless and there is no reason not to try it but for 2018 try using black as a neutral colour this year. Black really complements any theme and colour palettes. If you don’t want to commit to painting any walls black try black floors, it is a perfect way to add more drama to your room.

PASTELS:

For the past couple of years the trend is to stick to black and white, this year try something new! Soft washed pastel shades like mint green and sandy pinks will reimagine simple modern designs this year. Pastels work well together to create harmony to your rooms.

PINK:

Pink is a colour that can evoke many feelings everyone can relate to, this can be from joy to lust. This makes it a perfect mood-enhancing paint colour. Pantone predicts that 2018 is the year that millennial pink turns into a stronger more complex version of itself. You can even try a blush pink shade, this will combine the simple chic or ecru and the vivacity of a classic pink.

BLUE:

An overwhelming trend for 2018 is to create a tech-free sanctuary, where you can find a little relief in relaxing. Blue is a casual and calm colour that makes you feel more at piece, it also pairs well with other subdued colours which creates harmony for interiors and exteriors.

VIBRANT YELLOWS AND GREENS:

Filling your home with vibrant colours shouldn’t be classed as a risk anymore. Using brighter colours may look a little childish but you should enjoy it! If it makes you smile keep it, design doesn’t always have to be so serious.

METALLICS AS NEUTRALS:

For 2018 Pantone has decided that metallic are no longer a dramatic colour choice, they actually say that they are part of the new neutrals. You can choose to insert your ceiling with gold paper or even add a few pieces of gold furniture, apparently this is the new white marble.

TECH GREEN:

Seeing as technology is getting a bigger part of our lives match your rooms with this! Connectivity is modern and playful, it brings in all the dark watery tones of blue that are balanced with neutrals, warm yellows and energetic purples.
